A quick chat with someone you trust can signal safety to your amygdala — that’s your brain’s built-in smoke alarm — and help it settle down.Here’s a trick: tell the other person what you need upfront: “Can you just listen?” or “I’d love your take on this.” It makes the support way more helpful (and way less stressful).
